Mrs Macquaries Chair is a famous attraction on Sydney Harbor. The story is that the wife of the first Governor was so homesick for England that she would sit on the edge of a peninsula and watch the ships. Her husband then had men carve a chair for her out of the sandstone there. Alas, there are 3 chairs carved there. One super big one that has an inscription carved in. More of a couch, than a chair. Finally there was one more, but it didn’t look like it had as good of view as the other two, so no snap. Do you suppose that the government would lead masses of tourist to secondary chair as opposed to letting them wear down the original??
