I enjoyed and learned so much from Gerry’s Safety & Sea Survival Course, that I signed up for the Marine Radio Operator’s Course his was delivering on Tuesday the 5th. After passing the test at the end of the day, your dual HF & VHF Radio License. I hope I passed it, won’t know for a couple of more weeks. If you ever wanted to know how many times to say the word Mayday when you are in a distress situation with a person or vessel that is in grave and imminent danger and requiring immediate assistance, then this is the course for you. If you don’t know the difference between a PAN PAN and SECURITE message then this course is for you. If you need to know how sun flairs affect HF transmissions… If you need to know that HF 2182 is really 2187.5kHz…anyways, you get the picture. A lot of the info in this course is very dry, and Gerry did a great job getting us ready for the test that was delivered in the afternoon. This course is required for certain RYA certifications.
