We arrived in Dubrovnik after 10pm and bleary-eyed, picked up our rental car, paid the extra money to be able to drive in Bosnia as well as Croatia, fired up the GPS on the phone and drove through the black night to our hotel. We need a few days of recovery time before we start sight seeing again. Hanging out at the Hotel More in Lapad http://www.hotel-more.hr/ which is a 40 min walk into Old Town. We loved the Cave Bar and the hotel’s heavenly breakfast views. And yes, we know what you are thinking, ‘why are they needing to recover again….I mean, didn’t they recover on the way out of Marrakesh’s Medina and again in Barcelona?’
Well there is no need to feel that way, after 3 months on the road, more relaxation is required…and of course, there is a big difference between swimming in a pool and swimming in the Adriatic Sea.
This was our best meal in Croatia to date…giant grilled squid.
Here is a quick location run-down, the Republic of Croatia is located at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. Capital city is Zagreb and Croatia covers 21,851 square miles. About the size of West Virginia. Croatia’s Adriatic Sea coast contains over 1,000 islands. This coast is also know as the Dalmatian coast and the sunsets are so relaxing…now we understand why Dubrovnik is called the ‘Jewel of the Adriatic.’
