This one appeared on Monday the 17th parked at the pier next to ours. I’m not sure what class of ship it is, but I’m going to call it a Clipper. After all, I have seen the film Master and Commander 1.77 times. I think Lisa and I could be quite comfortable aboard such a vessel.
I really feel like I need to write some text in this white space so that it looks better in the blog. hmmmm…I have no desire to sail around the world. I think after a couple of weeks it would make me crazed. I guess if you were to take your time a spend a week in this harbor a week in this cove, a couple of weeks at a 5 star hotel before hopping on the boat again it might work.
I guess it would be fun to just sail all around Australia. Lisa has already gone out and purchased Sailing lessons for me and I’ve been going to every used book store I can find looking for a copy of Sailing for Dummies. So far I haven’t been too luck. I think I shall set a goal for myself to start my lessons next week regardless of my reading duties. Shouldn’t everyone know the following: How to drive (on both sides of the road), how to power boat (not really a difficult skill (but we all know someone who would scare the hell out of you in this position), how to sail, and how to fly a plane. I think all of this would make you much more able to be self reliant. Not to say that you couldn’t be self reliant on a couch in your house watch the NCAA March Madness Basketball tournament.
about all you\’re going to be able to sail is a sunfish class as a beginner and a great white can eat half of that in a bite….
As a basic sailing course grad and former 25ft sailboat owner, there are few things to know. How to get it up, get it down, port/starboard, watch the wind and who has the right of way. Meet the guy/gal who has the biggest crowd. If all else fails, make sure the motor has gas…
