We are traveling from Panama City to visit my parents in New Orleans so we couldn’t resist stopping off at our favorite Hotel on the Gulf Coast, White House Hotel in Biloxi, MS http://www.whitehousebiloxi.com/. We were married here last year. This is a historic hotel on the Gulf Coast, established in 1885 as a boarding house, then a series of small Victorian cottages that my parents and godmother used to frequent during their youth. We had a lovely anniversary dinner at Mary Mahoney’s https://marymahoneys.com/ where we’ve dined several times during our travels and love the Presidential platter and fish dishes.
View from the hotel terrace at sunrise today:
After 17+ years of ‘dating’ ( and living on/off together in Austin, New Orleans, Sydney, Australia and Hawaii ) we decided to make the official commitment last year surrounded by our loving family.
We began the day with yoga on the terrace! (at least for Lisa and her two lovely daughters and daughter-in-law who helped with the event planning)
Our officiant was a local Judge, Justice of the Peace, and the manager of the local Hooters 🙂 My Dad gave us a proper Catholic (but not official) blessing and we feel so blessed for the love we have shared and the love that surrounds us with family and friends. Douglas’ Mom, Kitty and sister, Dory traveled from North Carolina as well as all of my 4 siblings, parents, nieces & nephews so it was just a very special day.
So baby nowTake me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh darling, place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are -Thinking Out Loud
Traveler Blues is headed to New Orleans!
