Lisa picked up Alexandra and Eric at the airport. I stayed at home since there was no way that 4 adults and a bunch of luggage were going to fit in Lisa’s Cooper Mini – S. After they got in okay, we did a little site seeing and then headed over to A Taste of Sydney being held in Centennial Park which is adjacent to Moore Park. Lisa I had attempted to check it out on Friday night, but our cab driver didn’t know where it was and neither did we, so he dropped us off at the wrong location and left. So this was attempt two. http://www.tastefestivals.com.au/
Taste of Sydney was like a lot of Wine and Food Festivals, except that instead of paying one fee and enjoying excellent wines and small samples of food to taste from local chefs, you had to pay to get in and pay at each vendor’s booth. Also the location, felt a little space confined even though we were in a large park.
The were 16 top restaurants involved and each supplied three dishes; a choice of two mains and a desert. Since the portions were larger than you would get at most Wine and Food Festivals, I guess the pricing approach was fine. Here is a picture of Lisa, Eric and Alex enjoying da life.
HINT: If headed to Sydney, check out the restaurants that participated and you should get a good meal.
Later, Lisa, Eric and Alex went to Lisa’s favorite Thai Foot massage establishment and treated them to some pampering whilst I headed back to the apartment to get a workout in. That night, we had Pizza from place across the pier from the apartment that Lisa loves. http://ventuno.com.au/
On Sunday nights, $20 AUD gets you a pizza (tell’em you like it crispy) and either a beer or a glass of wine. Their Rocket Salad is excellent!
